nudges with Diana Trout

Had lots of creating time this weekend and I'm happy, happy. Put together several journals and still have two to bind. Going to try my hand at the Coptic stitch on one. Two black ones I used Canson archival refill pages which is gorgeous paper. I was inspired by Purrplekatt at her blog to do a Halloween Journal. Such a cool idea. One I'm sending off to a friend who just loves Halloween. Tried to scan it but black is always difficult to see. I'll take photos of mine once I get an instant camera. (I'm still bummed by digital was stolen...whine..sorry).

Another fun thing I did last night - Diana Trout is inspiring artists/us to work in our journals without trepidation. Check out her blog and scroll down for her video and explanation of the nudges. She's calling it Creative Revolutionarys and has a forum on Flickr. The first nudge was to gather scraps of fabric or paper, lay it out and then glue. No fussing and give it 5 maybe 10 min. Voila' you have a background to work off, now or later. So using one of my new journal signatures, here's my creation. Not sure where it will take me but looking forward to the adventure. Make/find time to have some creating time...you'll be glad you did.

That is so cool that you are making your own journals! Isn't it addicting?? :) I can't wait to see your Halloween journal.

The next art journal meeting is scheduled for Nov 6. Reminders did go out for the last one - for some reason the site thinks your email address is not valid. Hope to see you in Nov.
